Methodology

If we ask you why you send your child to school, your quick reply must be to get an education. Dictionary explains “education” as the knowledge or skill obtained or developed by a learning process. So when you want your child to get an education you would want your child to grow and develop a personality, to learn skills, acquire knowledge and build a character.

Our methodology is based on three main steps:

Literacy

Literacy forms the foundation of all learning. It includes listening, speaking, reading and writing. At PHILOMEL we provide them the opportunities to hear new words, to use language to communicate their feelings & ideas, to ask and answer questions and to tell incidents from their experiences. We always encourage them to express themselves.

Numeracy

Numeracy is another important skill that they need for their future career. PHILOMEL helps your child to discover math concepts like identifying numbers, counting, matching, sorting by size, shape and colour etc.

Concepts of science

Every child has a sense of wonder and curiosity about the world surrounding him. Even toddlers, who can barely hold a crayon or a pencil, are eager to paint the whole walls with their imaginations and wonders. PHILOMEL responds to your child’s needs to learn about the world around him and try to help him in attaining hands-on experience. We believe in trial and error methods and always welcome errors as valuable information, not as a failure.

Our Programmes

PHILOMEL programmes are specially designed for your child to make his learning full of fun filled activities like singning, dancing, writing, speaking etc. We have created our special teaching programme that retains Indian culture in its core but is instructed in such a manner that is somewhere even better than most of the international pre-school education formats.

We are offering the following programmes-

Philomel Junior Kids (1.5 – 2.5 years)

In PHILOMEL’s Junior Kids Programme focuses on nurturing and developing their mind, skills and creativity by offering them toys, books, puzzles, musical instruments, practical life tools and various indoor and outdoor games. In this way, PHILOMEL makes toddlers ready for academic education & extra-curriculum learning.

Philomel Smart Kids (2.5 – 3.5 years)

At this age kids start holding the pencil in writing position and try to make vertical, horizontal and circular strokes. They are also able to use proper words for communicating their needs and feelings. Here we introduce them with pre-reading, writing, number recognition & problem solving. The exploration of early learning continues in areas of dramatic play, science and art. Emphasis is placed on cooperative play as children explore opportunities for socially appropriate behaviour.

Philomel Senior Kids (3.5 – 4.5 years)

The activities in this class are structured into a specific time table. Here children start writing the alphabet and numbers which they have learnt to pronounce in the previous classes. Now they are able to read and write numbers up to 100 and also add one digit numbers. They will have accrued all the sounds of the alphabet and acquired at least few hundred words in English. The students will also be able to read small books by themselves and to write simple sentences in English.
